The Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area, Dr. Lukmon Abiodun Agbaje, has distributed a cash empowerment programme for traders and small business owners in the council area.
Under the initiative, 100 beneficiaries received grants of ₦100,000 each to support and expand their businesses.
Speaking during the presentation, Dr.Agbaje said the programme was designed to strengthen grassroots economic activities and improve the livelihoods of residents.
He noted that empowering small businesses remains critical to sustainable development and community prosperity.
“Economic empowerment remains a key pillar of sustainable development. When small businesses thrive, families prosper and the entire community benefits,” he said.
The Council Manager, Mrs. Funmi Bankole-Bawa, explained that the initiative forms part of the administration’s Renewed Hope and THEMES Plus development agenda.
She urged beneficiaries to utilise the grants wisely to grow their enterprises.
Also speaking, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ayobo-Ipaja, Wale Aina, advised recipients to spend the funds responsibly and strictly for business purposes.
Community stakeholders, including the Chairman of the Community Development Committee, Elder Olokede, and the Iyaloja of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, Ajike Ogunbiyi, commended the council chairman for supporting traders and entrepreneurs in the community.
