The Executive Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. (Dr.) Agbaje Lukmon Abiodun, on Thursday, presided over the statutory April Peace and Security Meeting.
The high-level session served as a strategic platform for stakeholders to review the community’s safety landscape and coordinate upcoming developmental initiatives.
During the session, the Executive Chairman officially presented the newly appointed Secretary to the Local Government (SLG),Hon. Ahmad Yusuf, and the Council Manager, Mrs. Bankole Bawa, to the members of the Security Council, ensuring seamless administrative synergy.
Security briefings provided by the Nigerian Police and relevant agencies confirmed that while the LCDA remains relatively peaceful, specific challenges require immediate attention. The Council deliberated extensively on addressing the illegal sale of drugs and substance abuse in identified areas.

Responding to the concerning trend of schoolchildren carrying harmful weapons through school based monitoring and sensitization and Monitoring the activities of undocumented immigrants to prevent security breaches.

Environmental Resilience and Public Works
With the peak rainy season approaching, Hon. Agbaje reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to proactive flood prevention.
He highlighted the intensification of drainage clearing operations across the LCDA.Furthermore, the Chairman announced a comprehensive road grading program designed to enhance grassroots mobility and complement ongoing infrastructure projects.
The Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman, Elder Olokede, lauded the administration for its recent donation of a transformer, noting its transformative effect on local security and economic productivity. Similarly, representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the League of Imams commended the Chairman’s success in eradicating illegal refuse disposal on road medians, offering prayers for continued peace and progress.
In his closing remarks, Hon. Agbaje expressed profound gratitude for the constructive feedback from the DSS, LNSC, and National Orientation Agency (NOA). He pledged to Partnering with the NOA to educate residents on emerging social concerns.
