Programme enhances compliance awareness and supports career growth in the public service.
The Executive Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area, Hon. Agbaje Lukman Abiodun, through the Human Resource Department, successfully organized a one-day in-house training on “The Importance of Financial Regulation as a Key to Career Development in Public Service.” The program brought together management staff, accountants, administrative officers, and other key personnel to deepen their understanding of financial compliance, accountability, and ethical standards in the public sector today 9th of October, 2025 at the Council Secretariat.
In his opening remarks, the Executive Chairman, Agbaje, emphasized that financial regulation is not merely a compliance requirement but a cornerstone of professional growth and institutional trust. He noted that sound financial management practices enhance transparency, strengthen governance, and promote long-term career advancement among public servants.
“Public officers who understand and adhere to financial regulations stand out as models of integrity and efficiency,” the Chairman stated. “This training is part of our broader effort to build a workforce that is both competent and ethically grounded.”
The Head of Human Resource, Mrs Williams Temitope Kafayat, in her welcome address, highlighted that the training was designed to equip staff with up-to-date knowledge on public financial management laws, auditing principles, and the consequences of financial misconduct. She added that such initiatives align with the organization’s commitment to continuous professional development and institutional excellence.
Facilitator at the training session led participants through key topics including:

- The link between financial discipline and career progression
- Ethical decision-making in financial management
