Hon. Agbaje Lukman Abiodun Launches Polio Immunization Drive in Ayobo–Ipaja

Campaign targets protection of every eligible child across the LCDA

The Executive Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area, Hon. Agbaje Lukmon Abiodun, today, 10th of November 2025 has officially flagged off the Polio Outbreak Response Campaign, a vital public health initiative aimed at ensuring every child in the community receives life-saving polio immunization.

The campaign, which will be conducted across all wards of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, is designed to reach children through house-to-house vaccination, as well as visits to churches, mosques, schools, shops, malls, eateries, playgrounds, and other public spaces — ensuring that no child is left out.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Hon. Agbaje reaffirmed his administration’s strong commitment to protecting the health and well-being of residents, especially children. He urged parents and guardians to cooperate fully with health officers by allowing their children to be immunized.

“This campaign is crucial for the future of our community. I urge all parents and residents of Ayobo-Ipaja to give maximum support to the polio immunization officers so that together, we can completely eradicate polio from our community,” the Chairman stated.

Hon. Agbaje further commended the health officials and partner organizations for their relentless efforts and dedication toward achieving a polio-free Ayobo-Ipaja. He emphasized that his administration would continue to prioritize the health sector and support all initiatives aimed at eradicating preventable diseases.

The exercise is part of the broader health initiatives of the Lagos State Government and the Federal Government, targeted at sustaining Nigeria’s polio-free status. Residents are therefore encouraged to welcome the vaccination teams and ensure all eligible children are immunized.

Together, let’s keep Ayobo-Ipaja healthy, safe, and polio-free!
