Responsibilities

Assists the Leader in planning and coordinating legislative business
Supports the management of debates, motions, and deliberations
Facilitates communication between members and leadership
Acts on behalf of the Leader when delegated or in the Leader’s absence
Helps ensure compliance with rules, standing orders, and legislative procedures
Contributes to policy discussions and strategic decision-making

The Deputy Leader strengthens legislative efficiency by providing leadership support, ensuring continuity, and helping to maintain order and productivity during House sessions.
