Hon. Agbaje Lukman Abiodun Unveils ₦10 Million Renewed Hope Empowerment Scheme

Programme targets 100 residents in line with the administration’s people-focused development agenda.

In a bold demonstration of his administration’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and economic empowerment of residents, the Executive Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Agbaje Lukman Abiodun has launched the maiden edition of his empowerment programme — a ₦10 million initiative designed to support small business owners, artisans, students, and entrepreneurs within the council.

The event, held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA Secretariat, witnessed the disbursement of ₦100,000 each to 100 beneficiaries, marking the official commencement of a monthly empowerment exercise aimed at alleviating hardship and promoting self-reliance among residents.

Speaking at the well-attended ceremony, Hon. Agbaje Lukman Abiodun emphasized that the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which prioritizes grassroots development and economic inclusiveness. He said “Today’s event is not just about giving ₦100,000 to 100 beneficiaries,” stating that “It is about restoring confidence, rewarding hard work, and building a foundation for sustainable growth in our local government. This programme is designed to empower individuals with vision, traders, artisans, farmers, students, and young entrepreneurs who need just a little support to turn their dreams into success stories.”

Hon. Agbaje further urged the beneficiaries to use the funds responsibly, cautioning them against spending on frivolities. He encouraged them to reinvest in their trades and productive ventures to enhance their livelihoods and contribute positively to community development.

In his goodwill message, the APC Apex Leader of Alimosho, Hon. Bisi Yussuf applauded the Council Chairman for his visionary leadership and compassionate approach to governance. He described the empowerment programme as a timely and impactful initiative that reflects true leadership, one that seeks to lift people out of poverty and build a community where all residents can live with dignity and hope.

Hon. Yussuf also called on political leaders, community stakeholders, and residents to rally behind the present administration and support its people-centered programmes to achieve lasting progress in Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA.

The beneficiaries, overwhelmed with joy and gratitude, expressed deep appreciation to the Council Chairman for the gesture. They described the empowerment as a lifeline in the current challenging economic climate and prayed for continued strength and wisdom for Hon. Agbaje to sustain and expand the initiative.

The event came to an end with presentation of cheques to the beneficiaries by some of the dignitaries present.
