Training aimed at improving efficiency, compliance, and Internally Generated Revenue performance.
In a bid to strengthen the internally generated revenue (IGR) base of Ayobo Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the Executive Chairman, Hon. Agbaje Lukmon, through the Department of Human Resource, organized an in-house capacity-building training for the Council’s Revenue Officers today, Tuesday, 7th October, 2025, at the Council Secretariat.
The training was aimed at equipping the officers with modern techniques and best practices in effective revenue collection, accountability, and excellent human relations with prospective taxpayers.
The facilitator took participants through step-by-step procedures on efficient revenue collection methods, emphasizing transparency, record accuracy, and courteous engagement with members of the public. Participants were also enlightened on strategies for enhancing productivity and sustaining public trust in the Council’s revenue drive.
Present at the training were the Council Manager, Mr. Babatunde Saheed; the Head of Human Resources, Mrs. Williams Temitope; the Head of Department, Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA); the Head of Unit, Public Affairs; the NULGE Chairman, Comrade Aromire Seun; Area Officers and other senior officers of the Council.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Agbaje Lukmon, commended the Human Resource Department for organizing the training, describing it as timely and crucial to the financial growth of the LCDA. He urged the Revenue Officers to apply the knowledge gained effectively in their daily operations, stressing that improved revenue generation remains key to achieving the Council’s developmental goals.
The participants expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman for his continuous commitment to staff capacity development and pledged to rededicate themselves to efficient service delivery for the progress of Ayobo Ipaja LCDA.
